We have now amended the advert for Journal 2009 so just awaiting Final Copy for sign off, then full steam ahead for the printers……

We have also (belatedly) submitted our charity Commission accounts, so another job done:-)

Seeing as you are “lurking” and not actually posing a lot (yet)…..Some information we are after, in no order of priority, and any further information would be a big help:-)

Of course ANY Images of the valley that you are willing to loan us would be very eagerly recieved, scanned and returned…..

Any information on the “Catholic Church” building at the bottom of River Street for my J2010 article….The period most required (ie I have least info on) is from the early 1970`s after the Church in Wales “left the building”… I believe it was briefly used as the Scout Hut, followed by a period of disuse, then it was a furniture store for a few years in the 1990s? Followed by demolition sometime in the early 2000`s (exact date would be great).

And of course if anyone has any additional photos of the building it would be a massive help, particularly of the interior????

Still looking for any information on the “Cloth Hall” in nantymoel, we have a number of theories but nothing concrete yet….

Looking at researching the custom of announcing funerals in the Valleys by using several strategic lamposts throughout the valley - When mentioning this custom to non Valley residents, they think we are barking mad and cannot understand it at all!! Mind you as it currently stands we have very little solid information on the custom also…..

Information on the “Ivorites” which were once very active in the Valley, but not general info on Ivorites, we have that,  we are after any specific info on the Valley`s Lodge….

Information on Ogmore Valley Golf Club (and/or the course itself) seems to have virtually vanished from the record books…..

That should be enough to keep you busy for a while:-) Whilst I clean up the Society`s Digital Image Archive……
