Only 4 Days……
23/11/2009 by admin.
Until the 10th Anniversary Book launch at Ogmore Vale Primary School on Friday 27th November.
The night will start around 7pm, with our usual nibbles and wine but you may want to come early as we are expecting more than usual this year with a significant increase in Community Councilors and also a minibus full from the Garw Valley Heritage Society also attending…..
We`ll also have samples of our commemorative “Mugs” and “Crystals” on view…..For you to order lots of, naturally:-)
There`s also a chance for you to see the Ogmore Valley Miners Memorial, Archive and Timeline all situated in the School.
We look forward to seeing you there……

Journal 2009
11/11/2009 by admin.
Journal 2009 now safely printed and looking very good….We have found an excellent printers in Carrick, hopefully we`ll be using them for many years to come…..All advance postal orders will be despatched on 27th November along with the BCBC library copies. The Legal Deposit Libraries will be despatched asap. The “Winter” clean up of our Digital Archive is going well, though it`s been interrupted by grant applications for our next “project”….Fingers crossed we`ll be successful before too long. We`ve had another superb image of Margaret Davies of Cardiff. This one is a 1924 image of the Mount Zion band taken in Bryn Bedw house and most of the personnel are also named, including John Davies, father of James Llewellyn Davies VC.We`ll also be offering our members a secure web exchange portal shortly so that images, information and Journal 2010 articles for editing can be uploaded to, amended and viewed only by our members with the login (available only from our secretary).More news of this when up and running……..Still waiting (patiently) for someone else (anyone?!?!) to post other than me…..There must be someone out there with information or questions on the Valley????
