1880 GWR Track Layout, Tynewydd & Wyndham Collieries

The Ogmore Valley Railway was opened on 1st August 1865, and ran from Nantymoel to Tondu, they merged with the Ely Valley Extension Railway in 1865. In 1866, the Ogmore and Llynvi Railways then further amalgated to form the Llynvi & Ogmore Railway Company. This company deepened the dock at Porthcawl to use as a port to ship their coal worldwide. The Great Western Railway Company took over the Llynfi & Ogmore Railway on the 1st July 1883.
