Fronwen primary was built in 1915 by Mr Thomas Lewis, grandfather of Mr Barrie Lewis, last permanent head. The School closed in July 2003 when the new Ogmore Vale Primary School was built (opened officially in September 2003). The School was demolished in 2004 and private dwellings were built on the site.
